Perseverance

Perseverance:  Steady persistence in adhering to a course of action, a belief, or a purpose; steadfastness.

This is going to be a short blog, but one that I’ll probably add to later. It’s been a while since I’ve done the blog, and I’ve moved it all over to the new site. I started doing the blog, and with everything in life, this is the final virtue, and one that is important to me (as they all are).

It’s easy to fall away from a project or goal when there is no one there to keep you focused. It’s much easier to stay with the crowd, even when they stop or move on to new things. But, that doesn’t get goals completed. I’ve had certain goals that I’ve set for myself and some have been completed, while others are still a working progress. Some have been put aside to complete other goals. Perseverance is something that is difficult for us all, but not nearly as hard as we think. All it takes is being determined to finish what we start. Corbie and I started Irminsol Heathen Fellowship over four years ago. There have been some ups and downs along the way, but we have continued to make sure things continue. There are times when it would just be easier to give up and move on to new things. But, that’s not how it will be. We’ve always said that as long as one of us was still involved in IHF, it would continue to exist.

If you set goals for yourself, complete them. If it isn’t worth completing, it isn’t worth starting. Before starting a project, think about it, and decide whether it is important and worth completing. It’s better to do a few things well than many things half-assed.
